Jersey Shore Star Mike “the situation” Sorrentino has reported to prison in Otisville, New York on Tuesday, promising fans that he would be back, even as his sentence ensured he would be gone for the better part of a year.
The prison, is located in Orange County, New York, is 123 miles from Sorrentino’s Long Branch home, a 2 hours and 20 minutes dirive. On Monday night, the eve of his voluntary surrender, Sorrentino tweeted his new address for those who want to send him letters.

In October, the reality star was sentenced to 8-months in prison for tax evasion, he admitted to making multiple deposits of $10,000 in order to evade detection by the Internal Revenue Service, was ordered to pay $123,000 in restitution.
According to an indictment, from 2010 to 2012, Sorrentino and his older brother, Marc, earned approximately $8.9 million. Prosecutors said the money came from club and TV appearances Mike made as well as endorsement deals and products the brothers sold off the strength of Mike’s fame.
