Actor Luke Perry allegedly suffered a second major stroke before his tragic death early Monday morning, multiple sources have said.

On Tuesday February 26 the late Beverly Hills 90210 star was rushed to a Los Angeles area hospital from his home in Sherman Oaks, after suffering a stroke.

“It was ultimately a second stroke that killed him,” a devastated insider told new outlet  “The first one is the one that you all know about. I don’t know if he ever came out of his medically induced coma.”

A source close to the Riverdale actor also told the outlet that when Perry was initially brought in to the hospital “they thought he was going to make it, he was in an induced coma, but his vitals were good,” the source continued.

“He started to deteriorate immediately after that. He wouldn’t stabilize and things continued to get worse and worse. His blood pressure would not go to normal,” the source continued.

A rep for Perry denied he was in a medically induced coma, claiming he was sedated.

On Monday March 4, Perry surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancè Wendy, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, as well as his brother and sister and other close family members, the reality of his failing health began to sink in.

“The doctor started to tell his family that there was not much that they can do and to prepare for the worst, which they did,” the source alleged. “The family thought that there was some sort of life-saving intervention that they could do, so they started bringing in friends, family and loved ones.”

A rep for the Perry family was quoted as saying, “His family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.”

Perry was 52.
