Chelsea FC have officially submitted a bid “north of €50 million to sign Christian Pulisic from German club Borussia Dortmund, next summer, according to ESPN FC.

Bundesliga leaders Dortmund will not sell the U.S. attacking midfielder, but he will be allowed to leave the club in six months subject to an acceptable transfer fee offer.  Pulisic has yet to show any signs of a transfer, but Dortmund is aware he wants to leave Germany.

Chelsea is currently in the lead to win the race for the 20-year old as there has been no other bids from the Premier League.  Manchester United, who have expressed an interest in the past, have lost contact with BVB since the firing of Jose Mourinho two weeks ago. The feeling is that the club will focus on the long-term successor to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before turning to prospective transfer targets for next season.

Besides United, other teams expected to make a bids are Arsenal and Bayern Munich.  Liverpool are no longer in the running.  They are loaded with attacking-midfielders.
