The first picture shows her husband beaming as he holds his newborn son while the second shows Underwood holding Jacob on her chest.

Alex Ovechkin was recently named captain of the Metropolitan Division All-Star Game (Jan. 26th), however he has informed the NHL that he will skip the events to rest.

“My body needs a rest,” he said after practice on Wednesday.

Skipping the game will cost the NHL’s leading scorer (29 goals) a one game penalty. He will have to sit on the front or backend of the contest.

Alex, selected as a captain, will break his streak of 7 straight appearances. The NHL Hockey Operations Department will fill his roster spot.

LOS ANGELES KINGS FIRE HEAD COACH STEVENS AFTER BAD START @NHL

The Los Angeles Kings have fired coach John Stevens after a little more than one season, interim coach Willie Desjardins, formerly of the Canucks.

Stevens is the first NHL coach to lose his job this season.  General manager Rob Blake said in a statement, “This is a critical time in our season and our results to date have fallen well below our expectations, with that in mind, this was a difficult decision but one we feel was necessary. We have a great deal of respect and appreciation for John’s time with our organization. He was a key part of our past success, and we have tremendous gratitude for his many contributions.”

The Kings are tied with the Florida Panthers for the fewest points in the league with nine.

Stevens had been hired as an assistant head coach in 2010 according to ESPN.
