Dodgers Set Franchise Record 8 Home Runs On Opening Day

Dodgers Set Franchise Record 8 Home Runs On Opening Day @dodgers

On Thursday, the reigning National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers, squared off against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Things went well for the Dodgers. Los Angeles homered eight times en route to a 12-5 victory. That isn’t a typo — the Dodgers really homered eight times as a team.

The home run frenzy had record-book implications. The eight homers tied the most by the Dodgers in a single game; set a new club record for most homers on Opening Day; and set a new MLB record for most players with a dinger on Opening Day.

Enrique ‘Kike’ Hernandez and Joc Pederson each homered twice.  Corey Seager, Austin Barnes, Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger each homered once. Justin Turner and A.J. Pollock, then, were the only Dodgers hitters to come to the dish multiple times without jumping the yard.

Watch all 8 home runs in the clip below!

The Diamondbacks and Dodgers will play again on Friday night.

Mike Trout finalizing 12-year $430 million extension with the Angels

Mike Trout finalizing 12-year $430 million extension with the Angels @miketrout

For the second time in three weeks, a new record for the largest contract in baseball history has been set.

The Los Angeles Angels and superstar outfielder Mike Trout are reportedly finalizing a 12-year, $430 million contract extension. The extension will presumably keep him in Anaheim the rest of his career.

The contract is the largest in professional sports history, surpassing boxer Canelo Alvarez’s $365 million deal, and it means Trout will not test free agency after the 2020 season.

Trout also takes the record for largest MLB contract away from Bryce Harper less than three weeks after he signed a 13-year, $330 million deal with the Phillies. After landing with his new team, Harper was public in his recruitment of Trout, a southern New Jersey native and die-hard Eagles fan.

Trout has won two American League MVP awards and has finished second in the voting four other times over his seven full MLB seasons. The 27-year-old enters the 2019 season with a .990 career OPS (175 OPS+) and 64.3 career WAR. Trout, a seven-time All-Star, hit .312/.460/.628 last season with 39 homers in 140 games last season. He led the AL in walks (and intentional walks), on-base percentage, OPS and OPS+.

While Trout has been brilliant since he made his MLB debut, he has not had much team success in Anaheim. The Angels have made the playoffs just once during Trout’s career and were swept out of the ALDS by the Royals in 2014.

The Angels have given out their share of huge contracts, but Albert Pujols’ deal expires after the 2021 season and Justin Upton’s runs through the 2022 year. Past that, it’s only Trout that is on the hook for the Angels. There might be a Shohei Ohtani extension in there at some point, but by no means are the Angels going to be handcuffed from exploring deals to build a team around Trout.

As far as what this means for the rest of baseball, the answer is not very much right now. Trout is special. He’s a once-in-a-generation player and already has one of the best resumes in history when it comes to his first seven years. What he gets doesn’t really apply to anyone else.

The biggest thing here is the Angels aren’t losing Trout and now they have 12 years to figure out how to build around him. Thus far, they haven’t been able to do so successfully.

A-Rod Accused of Being a Cheater Long Before Jose Canseco’s Twitter Rant

A-Rod Accused of Being a Cheater Long Before Jose Canseco’s Twitter Rant @jlo

The furture Mrs. A-Rod can’t seem to catch a break.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have only been engaged 2 days but that doesn’t and now several people have come forward accusing the MLB Legend of being a cheater!

Last night we told you about baseball former MLB player Jose Canseco accusing the singers fiancé of betraying her via Twitter.

Now media outlet has dug up an article original published in 2017 by The National ENQUIRER reported the former Yankees player, 43, cheated on Lopez, 49, with fitness model named Lauren Hunter.

“Jennifer is going to be shocked,” Hunter told The ENQUIRER. “She would be an idiot to believe he’d be faithful!”

Though Rodriguez and Lopez started dating in March 2017, Hunter claimed the athlete sexted and FaceTimed her constantly until May of that year, and even planned for a sex romp in Kansas City later that month.

“He told me he loved me, and he’s loved me for a long time,” said Hunter, who met Rodriguez in 2011. “Even the first time I was with him, he said, ‘I love you, we should be married! We could be a power couple. What do you think people would think of us, how we’d look together?’ He’s very into his image.”

The model, 28 also told The Enquirer,

“To me, at this point, I just think [that the relationship] is fake. I think they had such a good reaction, the fame is alluring and it maybe makes them like each other.”

“I don’t think he’s sexually attracted to her. In bed with J.Lo, he’s probably picturing me!”

She also claimed Rodriguez stopped talking to her in May, months after he first hooked up with Lopez.

“I would never marry him!” Hunter said.

However, Lopez is planning to do just that. The couple got engaged on March 9 in the Bahamas.

She Said “Yes!!”

She said “YES!”

Jennifer Lopez and retired MLB boyfriend Alex Rodriguez are engaged!

Lopez, 49, just shared the news on her Instagram page with the caption “♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️,” which was joined by a huge emerald-cut sparkler.

The two began dating in February of 2017, after crossing paths while having lunch.

“I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him as he passed by, afterwards I went outside and for some reason I felt like tapping him on the shoulder,” Lopez told Ellen DeGeneres.

Lopez said that they first started chatting about living in Los Angeles, as Rodriguez had just moved to California after residing on the East Coast for years. Eventually, he reached out to ask her on a date.

“He texted me, said, ‘Let’s go out to dinner,’ and I said, ‘OK,'” Lopez recalled. “We had a nice dinner.”

This will be the fifth time that Lopez has been engaged. The “Ni Tu Ni Yo” singer was previously married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998.

And backup dancer Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003.

She then tied the knot with Marc Anthony in 2004 and divorced in 2014, the former couple share twins Max and Emme.

She was also briefly, famously engaged to Ben Affleck in 2002, before separating in 2004.

As for Rodriguez, he was married from 2002 to 2008 to Cynthia Scurtis, with whom he shares two daughters, Natasha and Ella.

Meanwhile, both their kids seem to have gotten close over the past year, attending Lopez’s Las Vegas shows and spending holidays together!

Congrats to the happy couple!
