In January 2020 Markle and Harry announced that they would be stepping back from their senior roles within the palace after facing ongoing ups and downs in the royal spotlight. Two months following, they relocated to California. A source shared with Us Weekly “They’ve been looking forward to [moving], and they’re very content and happy to finally be all settled in. And of course, Meghan feels more at home too and she’s really starting to feel like herself again.”
And after their reveal of baby number two being on it’s way, Buckingham Palace also confirmed that the couple would not be returning as “working members” of the royal family. A source reported to Us that Harry and Meghan “finally feel free” and “have so much to look forward to” in their next chapter.
Leaving royalty came with its perks. Freedom being a big one. This brought the couple to get candid about their decision to leave the royal family in a special sit-down interview with CBS on March 7th.
