Sam Darnold’s shoulder is banged up, but he and the Jets are hopeful he can play on Monday against the Patriots.
Darnold was held out of practice on Thursday for precautionary reasons. The Jets starting quarterback already missed two games earlier in the season with a sprained AC joint. On Monday, Darnold underwent an MRI on his injured shoulder after reaggravating it in New York’s 35-9 loss to Kansas City in Week 8.
Darnold was happy with the results of the MRI, as was his head coach.
