Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon will face a three-game suspension after being charged with DUI on Tuesday evening.
With Gordon suspended and LeVante Bellamy on injured reserve, Denver will be left with just two running backs on the 53-man roster: Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman.
Lindsay has proven he can serve as a lead running back but the Broncos will likely want to add a third running back for more depth. After being cut by the New York Jets, Le’Veon Bell might be a good option for Denver.
Bell (6-0, 225 pounds) is a 28-year-old running back who spent the last two seasons in New York after six years with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The three-time Pro Bowler has totaled 9,359 yards from scrimmage and 46 touchdowns in 79 career games.
