When asked what it was that keeps viewers connected to the New York cast, Morgan revealed, “New Yorkers are complex” She then went on to say that despite what some people may think the New York franchise is “not just about beautiful clothes and great backdrops or partners, we’re also very involved in the culture New York offers.”

Sonja admits, “We use our words and have a strong work ethic  — we try to be inspirational in that way. We’re independent women. I think that’s why we have so many divorced women on the show because New York’s about that independence. I think people watch to see how they can get ahead in America and stand on their own. New York is a city of tolerance that’s about waving your inner freak flag and being able to survive doing that.”
