Darnold, 22, played 13 games, going 7-6. He completed 3,024 yards for 61.9 percent of his passes, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He’d had an 84.3 QB rating. In the last two months of the season Darnold played much better after struggling for a time during October when he returned from mono.
Darnold said he was unsure as to whether he would need surgery when he met reporters the day after the end of the Jets season. He said he would need more tests to determine if he needed surgery. The doctors seemingly felt that surgery was the way to go.
