On Monday. Tua Tagovailoa officially announced that he has decided to enter the 2020 NFL Draft. This decision will impact the entire draft, especially those with a top 3 pick, like the Redskins.
The star quarterback was choosing between declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft or returning to Alabama for one more season after suffering a season-ending hip injury late in 2019.
Ultimately, Tagovailoa elected to enter the 2020 draft. He further strengthens an already good-looking quarterback group and there’s a strong chance that he will be the second quarterback off the board if medical checks go well (LSU’s Joe Burrow is expected to go No. 1).
However he Redskins aren’t looking for a quarterback in this class (they drafted Dwayne Haskins in the first round last year) but Tagovailoa’s decision still has an impact on them. They hold the No. 2 pick and now, they could get some serious trade offers from teams in pursuit of Tua.
